Job Overview
Position will run from April 1st to October 31st. Full time position 30 hours/week.

Key Responsibilities- Respond to and investigate allegations of violations of Municipal, Land Development and Property Maintenance Codes to determine validity of complaints and the appropriate course of action.
- Notify issues in writing, by phone, in person, and electronically.
- Schedule and perform systematic property maintenance inspections to maintain or achieve minimum property standards.
- Prepare records and reports pertaining to abatements, court actions, daily activities, enforcement actions and inspections.
- Compile documentation for and issue summons.
- Perform other duties as required or assigned.
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, citizens and elected officials; handle sensitive or stressful situations with tact and diplomacy.
- Communicate effectively both orally and in writing; present information clearly.
- Read, interpret, and explain City codes and site plans, maps and work plans.
- Maintain a good driving record.
- Building/Construction knowledge preferred.
- Experience in enforcement, security, or compliance-related work including investigating allegations, conducting research and resolving complaints, concerns or conflicts.
- ICC Property Maintenance and Housing Inspector Certification is a plus.
- Valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Frequent walking, standing, climbing, bending, stooping, crawling, or kneeling during inspections.
- Climb ladders, scaffolding, or unfinished stairways to access roofs, attics, crawl spaces, and other elevated or confined areas.
- Lifting or moving objects up to 25–50 pounds occasionally.
- Visual acuity sufficient to read construction plans, technical documents, and observe construction details.
- Detect safety hazards and defects through visual and auditory inspection.
- Hearing sufficient to communicate with contractors, workers, and the public in noisy environments.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, operate inspection equipment, and use computers/tablets for reporting.
- Work performed in both office and field settings, including exposure to outdoor weather conditions and construction site environments.
