Lochmueller Group is seeking an experienced Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) licensed in Texas to support survey project delivery in the Dallas–Fort Worth region. This role is best suited for a technically strong, detail-oriented survey professional who enjoys hands‑on project execution and high-quality technical work, while also collaborating with a broader, multi‑disciplinary team.

This position will primarily focus on the delivery and technical oversight of surveying services, with opportunities to contribute to service growth and business development over time. The role will be supported by Lochmueller Group’s established Survey & Right of Way Engineering team based in Indiana and will collaborate closely with other civil engineering and environmental services teams.

Responsibilities
  • Survey Project Delivery: Serve as a lead surveyor and project manager for boundary, topographic, route, construction staking, and control surveys. Perform and oversee technical survey activities, including project planning, field coordination, data processing, calculations, and adjustments. Develop scopes of work, schedules, and budgets in coordination with project teams and leadership. Coordinate survey crews and internal resources to meet project schedules, budgets, and quality standards.

Perform QA/QC reviews of survey data, plats, reports, and final deliverables. Ensure compliance with applicable federal, state (Texas), and local surveying laws and regulations. While primarily focused on project delivery and technical oversight, the RPLS may periodically support fieldwork activities as needed to meet project and quality requirements.
  • Technical Oversight & Analysis: Research and analyze deeds, plats, easements, survey records, and public documents. Analyze boundary evidence and prepare boundary descriptions, Surveyor’s Reports, and related documentation. Prepare survey data for CAD production and/or complete CAD drawings and plats as appropriate. Provide technical guidance on survey methodologies, equipment usage, and best practices. Coordinate closely with other disciplines to support integrated project delivery.
  • Client & Team

    Collaboration:

Communicate project status, technical findings, and deliverables to clients and internal team members. Participate in client meetings, coordination calls, and project discussions as needed.
  • Growth & Business Support: Participate in proposal development, project pursuits, and interviews as needed. Contribute technical expertise to support expansion of survey services in Texas over time. Assist with client relationship development in coordination with leadership and marketing teams.
  • Perform other responsibilities related to the position as opportunities and demands present themselves.

  • Registered Professional Land Surveyor (RPLS) or Licensed State Land Surveyor (LSLS) in Texas.
