The FS Installation Process Specialist will work on a variety of challenging technical assignments such as constructing, repairing, testing, troubleshooting, maintaining and installing equipment, RF products and electro‑mechanical devices, components, and systems. You will possess a thorough understanding of electro‑mechanical systems and design, and be proficient in mentoring and training less experienced Field Service Engineers, both in plant as well as at installation sites.
Up to 75% travel will be required with extended stays.
- Assist in Assembly and Engineering in building and troubleshooting transmitter systems in the factory.
- Support factory acceptance tests (FATs), site acceptance tests (SATs), and customer validation activities using established procedures and test equipment.
- Interface directly with customers to quickly and thoroughly analyze problems and implement effective solutions.
- Assist with system teardown and packaging for shipment to site for installation, including assuring the proper tools, parts, and hardware are included in the shipping kit.
- Proficient in assembly of large‑scale assemblies and systems.
- Extensive experience constructing, repairing, troubleshooting, calibrating, adjusting, testing and maintaining electronic and mechanical equipment, microwave products, electro‑mechanical components, devices, and systems.
- Ability to interpret schematics, engineering drawings and wire lists and communicate clearly with Engineering and Mechanical Design when something is not clear or an error is found.
- Champion and implement changes or modifications to improve the operation or the quality of electronic or mechanical products and equipment.
- Develop procedures and work instructions to provide clear guidance for installation of high‑power RF transmitter systems.

- Report quality problems or defects to a manager or senior management to enable corrective action and prevent recurrence.
- Duties may be modified or assigned at any time to meet the needs of the business.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- 2 or more years of hands‑on experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting complex electronic or electromechanical systems.
- Active DoD issued Secret Security Clearance.
- Strong understanding of test and measurement equipment, such as oscilloscopes, signal generators, spectrum analyzers, and power meters.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot system‑level issues involving hardware, software and interfaces.
- Strong verbal and written skills to interact with project teams, management and customers.
- Basic computer skills:
Microsoft Windows, loading software, network systems, Linux, PLs. - Must be proficient in writing and speaking English.
- Strong problem‑solving and communication skill.
- Experience supporting or working with military communications environments.
- Familiarity with RF systems.
- Experience working in international customer environments.

Working ConditionsThis position works in a production and customer site environment with the risk of injury. Some safety equipment must be worn when working with equipment. Bending, lifting and pushing up to 70 pounds is required.
