A ~$10B+ global industrial manufacturer with operations across North America, Europe, and Asia is seeking a Engineering Manager to join one of its most critical U.S. manufacturing sites. The organization is a market leader in engineered materials and building solutions, supplying essential products into construction, infrastructure, and industrial end markets.
With a strong operational footprint and long-standing industry presence, the company is continuing to invest in modernizing operations and strengthening technical leadership across key sites. This includes a focused effort on improving process stability, reducing losses, and embedding disciplined operating systems to drive performance and long-term scalability.
This role sits on the plant leadership team and serves as the go-to technical leader across the site, with end-to-end ownership of process performance across multiple continuous manufacturing lines. The position is highly visible and plays a critical role in driving productivity, improving line efficiency, and solving core challenges related to process and equipment reliability.
This is a hands‑on leadership opportunity in a complex, 24/7 manufacturing environment — ideal for someone who enjoys breaking down problems, driving accountability, and building technical capability within a developing team.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and develop the plant engineering function, serving as the primary technical authority across manufacturing operations
- Drive improvements in process stability, line efficiency, and overall equipment effectiveness (OEE)
- Identify and eliminate key sources of loss across production, including process variability and equipment‑related issues
- Establish and implement standards to improve consistency, performance, and long‑term reliability
- Partner closely with operations, maintenance, and technical teams to drive sustainable performance improvements
- Support and influence capital and equipment‑related initiatives without direct ownership of execution
- Develop and mentor a team of engineers, building technical capability and strengthening problem‑solving skills
- Drive a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement across the engineering team
- Act as a key member of the site leadership team, contributing to overall plant strategy and execution
- ~10+ years of engineering experience within manufacturing or industrial environments
- 5+ years of experience leading and developing engineering teams
- Strong background in process engineering, manufacturing engineering, or continuous improvement
- Experience in continuous, high‑volume, or “dirty” manufacturing environments (e.g., building materials, chemicals, heavy industry)
- Demonstrated ability to drive productivity improvements and solve complex process challenges
- Exposure to TPM, Six Sigma, or equivalent continuous improvement methodologies preferred
- Ability to quickly learn new processes and adapt within technically complex environments
