Job SummaryAs a member of the Industrial Automation Solutions (IAS) team, the Automation and Control Specialist designs, programs, installs, and troubleshoots industrial control systems (PLCs, HMIs, VFDs, networks). The role requires hands‑on troubleshooting, project management, documentation, training, and collaboration with field sales and support teams.
Essential Job Functions- Applies safe work practices during all work activities.
- Develops and configures PLC/HMI/SCADA systems while integrating VFDs, servo drives, and industrial networks (Ethernet/IP, Profinet, Profibus, Modbus, etc.).
- Installs, tests, and starts up new control systems and modifications, ensuring quality and adherence to standards.
- Diagnoses and resolves complex electrical/control issues while minimizing downtime for PLCs, instruments, and networks.
- Provides technical training, support, and expertise to operators and technicians, acting as a liaison for customers.
- Performs other duties and/or projects as assigned.
- Develops and maintains positive relations with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Obtains all necessary Siemens certifications (position‑dependent).
- Serves as the SME for all Siemens industrial automation products, supporting account managers, branches, and customers in developing industrial automation products.
