Job Description

A Senior Estimator responsible for leading the development and validation of capital cost estimates for complex heavy civil and marine construction projects, applying deep industry expertise to evaluate cost, risk, and schedule impacts. This role partners closely with internal teams and external clients to review design documents, perform detailed quantity take-offs, and support procurement strategies. The position also plays a key role in presenting cost analyses and ensuring accurate, well-documented estimates throughout the project lifecycle.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 10-15 years of estimating and construction experience.
  • Proficient use of MS Office products and estimating software(s).
  • US Citizenship
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, construction management or a related field
  • Experience with MII (MCACES 2nd generation) estimating software
  • Experience with HCSS Heavy Bid estimating software
  • Alternative delivery procurement experience.
  • Understanding of the relationship between cost, risk and schedule
  • Certifications such as a CPE, CEP, CCP, PMP, or CCM
Job Responsibilities:
  • This role will review design documents, proposals, specifications, drawings, attend design development meetings and assess the risk and cost impacts required to develop the estimates.
  • You will work with a knowledgeable and supportive team as you prepare estimates by developing project work breakdown structures, calculating complete scope of work take-offs, assist contracts staff with statements of work for subcontractors and vendors, apply construction means and methods, calculate indirect field and owner's costs.
  • Develop capital cost estimates for heavy civil/marine type projects.
  • Review contractor proposals for various procurement types.
  • Review and validate change orders.
  • Interface with external clients in the presentation of capital costs.
  • Maintain organized and detailed files, project records and logs.
  • Attend project meetings as required.
Pay Range: $60/hr.

- $85/hr.
