Laboratory Equipment Maintenance, Qualification, and Calibration Engineer
Synergy is seeking a diligent and experienced Engineer responsible for the maintenance, qualification, and calibration of laboratory equipment to ensure operational reliability and compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will manage all aspects of equipment lifecycle, including installation qualification (IQ), operational qualification (OQ), performance qualification (PQ), preventive maintenance, and calibration activities in support of pharmaceutical or biotech laboratory operations.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and execute maintenance, qualification, and calibration programs for laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Perform IQ, OQ, and PQ activities according to regulatory guidelines and company SOPs.
- Coordinate and conduct preventive and corrective maintenance to minimize equipment downtime.
- Maintain detailed records and documentation of all maintenance, calibration, and qualification tasks.
- Collaborate with quality assurance and laboratory teams to ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and other regulatory requirements.
- Identify and troubleshoot equipment issues and recommend solutions.
- Manage service contracts and vendor relationships related to equipment support.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or related technical field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in laboratory equipment maintenance, qualification, and calibration within pharmaceutical or biotech environments.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory compliance including GMP, FDA guidelines, and ISO standards.
- Experience with a wide range of laboratory instruments and calibration tools.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Science, or a related technical discipline.
- At least 5 years’ experience in laboratory equipment maintenance, calibration, and qualification, preferably in pharmaceutical or biotech sectors.
- Experience with regulatory compliance requirements such as GMP, FDA, and ISO standards.
- Familiarity with IQ, OQ, and PQ protocols and documentation.
- Strong technical and troubleshooting skills for laboratory instruments.
- Excellent documentation and record-keeping abilities.
- Effective communication and vendor management skills.
- Ability to work independently and in cross-functional teams.
