• Lead structural design engineering and analysis on substation scopes.
• Collect and assimilate data for engineering work; perform research and prepare calculations in accordance with Black & Veatch and industry standards.
• Develop recommendations for equipment and materials, ensuring alignment with budget, project schedule, and quality requirements.
• Provide guidance to engineering team members and maintain positive client relations through effective communication.
• Assist with business development activities and serve as a technical specialist for projects of medium to high complexity.
• Act as a technical specialist, providing leadership and administrative responsibilities for a group or key reference for technical guidance.
• Ensure compliance with Black & Veatch quality program and support continuous improvement initiatives.
• Prepare complex engineering deliverables, perform advanced calculations, and oversee data management.
• Manage assigned budget, schedule, and quality requirements.
• Coordinate with internal and external team members on moderately complex projects and define project schedules.
• Communicate client interests and drivers, and deliver client‑focused solutions.
• Foster knowledge sharing, mentoring, and advanced engineering concepts.
• Support performance management, career planning, and training.
• Implement resource management strategy and manage engineering resources.
• Perform administrative duties such as office administration and approving timesheets.

• Active PE license.
• Advanced knowledge of structural engineering design principles and applicable design guides and standards.
• Intermediate to advanced structural steel and concrete experience using 3D analysis and design software such as RISA‑3D, STAAD Pro, or equivalent.
• Foundation design experience using analysis and design software (LPile, RISA Foundation, SP‑Mats, etc.).
• Experience performing structural connection and miscellaneous calculations using MS Excel and/or Mathcad.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, and ability to lead teams.
• Client interaction experience with solid relationship‑building abilities for business opportunities.
• Ability to think quickly on the job site and with customers.
• Experience with utility‑scale electrical substations, energy, renewables, or similar fields (not required).
• Structural design of electrical substation steel structures and foundations (not required).

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited program or equivalent experience.
• Minimum of 11 years related work experience.
• Completion of pre‑employment onboarding requirements (background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search).
• Active engineering registration or licensure in the applicable country to support engineer‑of‑record requirements.

Salary Plan: REG (Registered Engineering). Job Grade: 017.
