OverviewAs a Traffic Engineering Designer, you will work on portions of complex transportation projects and provide technical support in traffic operations, traffic control, and safety-related design. You will apply sound engineering judgment and collaborate closely with project engineers and managers to deliver accurate, efficient, and constructible traffic design solutions.
Responsibilities- Deliver traffic engineering design plans, specifications, and cost estimates for transportation projects.
- Develop and design traffic control systems including traffic signals, signing, pavement markings, lighting, and work zone traffic control.
- Perform traffic engineering calculations and analyses, ensuring compliance with applicable standards, agency criteria, and client requirements.
- Coordinate traffic design activities with multidisciplinary teams and provide technical guidance to junior staff.
- Assist project engineers and managers with quality control reviews, schedule tracking, and the coordination of traffic-related design deliverables.
- Support intersection, corridor, and multimodal traffic studies as they relate to design implementation.
- Bachelor of Science degree in civil engineering with an emphasis in transportation design.
- 2-4+ years of directly related experience.
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Micro Station &/or Civil 3D.
- Proficiency with Excel.
