Summary
A Japanese machinery company is seeking an experienced engineer to join our engineering team. This role involves supervising the installation of newly delivered manufacturing equipment (including safety management) and performing commissioning and adjustment works. For equipment that has already been at customer sites, responsibilities include arranging and replacing consumable parts, proposing maintenance and modification work based on customer requirements and managing work performed by external contractors.
EssentialDuties
- Serving as the primary point of contact for customers and communicating their requirements to teams in Japan
- Performing maintenance on delivered equipment and proposing improvements and modifications
- Arranging and managing (schedule, safety, and cost) external contractors
- Collaborating with manufacturing, design, and procurement teams in Japan
- Performing equipment assembly and adjustment work
- Preparing technical documents and reports
- Supporting Japanese staff during on‑site assignments (e.g., entry application, interpretation)
- Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
09:00 - 18:00
The role is highly field‑based, requiring frequent and extended travel (up to 70% of the time) for long‑term on‑site assignments at customer facilities across the US. Frequent travel/commute to the Dallas headquarters will be required, but residence in the state of Texas is not mandatory.
Working LocationWestlake, TX
Work locations will vary depending on needs, including equipment installation and maintenance requirements. Assignments may require staying at each site for 1 to 6 months.
Salary/Benefit$60K ~ $100K/year

Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field
- Knowledge of CAD software (e.g., Solid Works, AutoCAD)
- Understanding of manufacturing process and materials for mechanical drawings
- Strong problem‑solving and analytical skills
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings
- Proficiency in creating reports (e.g., meeting minutes and daily reports) and emails using a PC
- Communication skills in Japanese and English (reading, writing, and speaking)
- Valid driver’s license
- Experience with industrial machinery
- Knowledge of FA tools
- Knowledge of PLC software
- Positive and Proactive personality
