Job Description & How to Apply Below

Lockheed Martin is a global security and aerospace company. Lockheed Martin Missiles and Fire Control (MFC) is seeking a Senior RF Engineer to join its growing engineering team. The role involves cutting‑edge design, laboratory testing, and product development of precision engagement systems.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Serve as a key technical contributor on defense programs, supporting design, development, analysis, and test of advanced RF systems and subsystems.
  • Lead and contribute to the design, development, and implementation of RF and RADAR systems, including signal processing algorithm development and high‑fidelity simulation environments.
  • Conduct RF simulation analysis, antenna test data analysis, and captive flight test performance data analysis to evaluate sensor and system performance.
  • Develop and optimize signal processing algorithms for RF applications such as RADAR, wireless communications, and software‑defined radios.
  • Use MATLAB, Python, and C++ for tool development, scripting, simulation, data analysis, and code review.
  • Perform RF requirements analyses, execute trade studies, and provide data‑driven recommendations during design reviews.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional and multi‑company teams, interfacing with suppliers, partners, and customers to balance competing priorities.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation, analysis packages, validation reports, and lessons‑learned documentation.
  • Manage version‑controlled repositories (e.g., Git Lab), create merge requests, and document changes.
  • Prepare status briefs for program leadership and partner contractors, highlighting analysis findings and risk items.
Basic Qualifications
  • Degree:
    Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or a closely related STEM field from an accredited university;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum 3 years of professional experience in RF engineering or a related discipline.
  • Demonstrated experience in one or more of the following areas:
    • RF or microwave circuit design, test, and troubleshooting at the CCA level.
    • RF simulation at the system level (e.g., System Vue, AWR VSS), circuit level (e.g., ADS, Microwave Office), and/or full‑wave level (e.g., CST, HFSS).
    • RF sensor data analysis, signal processing, or RADAR systems engineering.
    • Digital signal processing techniques for RF applications (RADAR, wireless communications, SDR).
    • EMI/EMC requirements development, E3 control plans, and MIL‑STD‑461/464 test execution.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB (tool development, scripting, simulation, and analysis).
  • Understanding of antenna theory, RF front‑end architectures, signal and digital processing, and sensing modalities.
  • Experience with RF test equipment such as spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, signal generators, power meters, and oscilloscopes.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain or hold a DoD Secret security clearance.
Desired Skills
  • Defense or Aerospace industry experience; previous missile or defense program experience.
  • Advanced degree (MS or Ph.D.) in Electrical Engineering or a related STEM field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to convey technical information to diverse audiences and work across multiple functions.
  • Strong mathematics skills in complex arithmetic, linear algebra, and probability & statistics.
  • Strong programming abilities in Python and/or C++; familiarity with data handling libraries (Num Py, pandas, etc.).
  • Hardware prototyping experience with software‑defined radios (e.g., Ettus USRP) or RADAR systems.
  • Experience developing real‑time signal processing algorithms in programmable logic (Simulink, HDL Coder, System Generator, Model Composer).
  • Understanding of RFSoC architectures and embedded systems targeting.
  • Experience with hardware‑in‑the‑loop test setups and exposure to flight, HWIL, and high‑fidelity simulation data environments.
  • Experience with version control tools (Git Lab branching, CI/CD, merge request workflows).
  • Familiarity with algorithm design including CFAR/detection, false alarm rate, waveform/PRF selection, Kalman filters, and optimization.
  • Experience with compact ranges (anechoic/RF chambers) and RF testing.
  • Knowledge of RF circuit design impairments and fixed‑point data types.
  • Proactive problem solver with a detail‑oriented and growth mindset; aptitude for learning on the job.
  • Active DoD Secret or Top Secret clearance.
