Position SummaryWe are seeking a Senior Construction Estimator with deep experience in commercial construction particularly data centers and industrial warehouse projects to lead preconstruction and estimating efforts.
This role is highly strategic and hands-on, responsible for developing competitive, accurate estimates, supporting proposal development, and partnering closely with operations and finance to ensure project success. The ideal candidate will play a key role in helping us build and scale our Dallas operations.
Key Responsibilities 1. Lead Estimating for Commercial & Mission-Critical Projects- Prepare detailed cost estimates for ground-up and tenant improvement projects, including data centers and warehouse/distribution facilities
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and bid documents, with a focus on MEP systems, power requirements, cooling systems, concrete, tilt-wall, and structural steel
- Identify cost drivers, market trends, and escalation risks to develop accurate and competitive pricing
- Perform quantity takeoffs and manage cost databases to ensure estimate reliability
- Lead the full bid and preconstruction process, including subcontractor solicitation, scope alignment, and bid leveling
- Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors and suppliers, particularly in mission-critical and industrial scopes
- Partner with leadership, operations, and finance to support bid strategy, go/no-go decisions, and project pursuit planning
- Contribute to client proposals for general contracting and owners rep opportunities, including pricing narratives, assumptions, and risk assessments
- Evaluate contract documents to identify financial risk and recommend mitigation strategies
- Collaborate with project management and finance teams to transition estimates into job budgets and cost control systems
- Track project performance against estimates and provide insights into variances, cost trends, and margin impacts
- Support continuous improvement of estimating processes, tools, and historical cost data specific to data centers and warehouse construction
- Provide input to operational teams to ensure alignment between preconstruction strategy and project execution
- 4+ years of experience in construction estimating, with a strong focus on commercial, industrial, or data center projects
- Proven experience estimating ground-up warehouse/distribution facilities and/or mission-critical environments
- Strong understanding of:
- Job costing and construction financial principles
- Mechanical, electrical, and structural systems for large-scale builds
- Preconstruction and bid strategy
- Experience working with general contractors required
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools
- Ability to read and interpret complex construction documents
- Experience with data center infrastructure (power distribution, redundancy systems, cooling systems)
- Familiarity with owners rep proposals and financial modeling support
- Experience supporting fast-track or design-build projects
- Established subcontractor network in the Texas market
