We are seeking Test Technician(s) to join the team in the DFW, Dallas‑Fort Worth, Texas area. In this position, you have the possibility to be working with construction equipment, mining machinery and/or agricultural equipment in a field test environment and simulated lab environment. You will be working independently and as a team, with engineers and support technicians on the cutting edge of robotic and autonomous technology.
As a Test Technician you will help support the research, development and fabrication of robotic solutions by performing field testing and providing critical data to engineering.
We offer a competitive salary based on experience ($70,000‑$80,000 per year), medical, dental, and vision insurance, 401(k) with company match, paid time off, bonuses, and all paid travel expenses.
What you will be doing in this role:Test Technician Level 1:
- Provide engineering and technical support including: data collection, field testing activities and diagnostics
- Operate heavy equipment (in‑cab and remotely)
- Deliver test plans that meet customer requirements
- Testing software on machines and reporting issues
- Perform software updates to test machines
- Diagnose and repair machine failures including ability to reproduce the defects
- Document all aspects of machines and/or products
- Monitor autonomous or semi‑autonomous machinery
- Prototype and experimental machine testing
- Create training plans and train others on systems
- Support robotics field testing activities
- Ability to provide high‑level customer support in‑field
- Provide advanced systems training to include set‑up, troubleshooting and maintenance
Test Technician Level 1:
- Degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Robotics, Management Systems, or other related major.
- Experience operating heavy equipment is required.
- Strong technology and computer troubleshooting skills
- Self‑motivated and able to work well in an individual or team setting.
- Outgoing with a positive attitude and professional presentation
- Valid U.S. Driver’s License and clean driving record
- Ability to keep accurate & detailed records of work performed
- Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving skills and ability to effectively communicate findings
- Ability to travel (depending on project assigned)
- Experience in performing various vehicle maintenance (heavy equipment, etc.)
- Strong mechanical skills and intuition
- Experience in supporting/maintaining electro‑mechanical systems is preferred
