CSI Recruiting is working with a growth-minded E&P firm based in Dallas and seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to join their oil and gas operations team. Focused on domestic, onshore oil and gas assets, this role is responsible for the design, operation, optimization, and integrity of surface facilities with a strong focus on compression systems and gas plant operations.
The successful candidate will also play a key role in integrating new field acquisitions - evaluating existing infrastructure, identifying improvement opportunities, and bringing assets up to company standards efficiently and safely.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Compression Systems
- Monitor and optimize compression performance at major compression facilities, booster stations, etc. (suction/discharge pressures, throughput, fuel gas, run times, equipment recommendations) to maximize production and minimize downtime.
- Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs at major compression facilities as needed, coordinate with field operations and third-party vendors.
- Evaluate compression needs for new and existing wells, prepare horsepower sizing studies, and manage equipment procurement for large compressor designs and purchases.
- Manage day-to-day operations and integrity of gas processing and treating facilities, including dehydration & amine treating facilities, NGL recovery and treating, and gas lift systems.
- Oversee produced water handling, fluid separation equipment, tank batteries, and associated piping and instrumentation.
- Ensure facilities comply with applicable regulatory requirements and company safety/environmental standards.
- Coordinate with operations, HSE, and regulatory personnel to maintain permits and reporting compliance.
- Develop and execute capital and expense projects from scoping through commissioning, managing design/scope, schedule, and budget.
- Lead facilities due diligence for prospective acquisitions - assess compression inventory, processing plant conditions, piping integrity, instrumentation, and deferred maintenance.
- Develop detailed execution plans for acquired assets, including gap analyses, capital forecasting, and phased workover/upgrade schedules.
- Establish operational baselines post-close and drive assets to full production capability on schedule.
- Interface with seller's technical teams during transition periods to ensure smooth knowledge transfer.
- Standardize facilities' equipment, documentation, and procedures across legacy and acquired assets.
- Prepare AFEs, cost estimates, economic evaluations, and project justifications for facilities projects.
- Review and approve engineering drawings, P&IDs, equipment datasheets, and vendor documentation.
- Mentor and provide guidance to junior engineers and field technicians.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with drilling, completions, production, land, and finance teams.
- Maintain and improve technical documentation, operating procedures, and equipment records in company systems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Petroleum Engineering.
- 7+ years of Facilities Engineering experience in upstream oil and gas field operations.
- Demonstrates expertise in various compression equipment (reciprocating, centrifugal, screw, etc.) - sizing, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on experience with gas plant operations: dehydration, amine systems, NGL recovery, or similar.
- Experience supporting or leading field acquisition integration activities.
- Proficiency in engineering calculations, P&, and process simulation concepts.
- Solid understanding of oilfield safety standards, PSM, and environmental regulations.
- Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to deliver projects on time and within budget.
- Experience with SCADA, RTU, and field instrumentation systems.
- Familiarity with regulatory frameworks (EPA, OSHA, state oil and gas commissions) relevant to assigned operating area.
- Working knowledge of gas contracts, midstream interfaces, and commercial agreements.
