Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Civil Engineer to join our growing team in Texas. This position is integral to the planning, design, and execution of land development and residential projects across the state. You will work alongside experienced project managers and multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality infrastructure that serves communities throughout Texas.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Engineer-in-Training (EIT) looking to grow toward licensure, or a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) ready to take on greater project ownership. We offer a collaborative environment, competitive compensation, and a strong pipeline of meaningful work.
Key Responsibilities- Design and prepare construction documents for residential subdivisions, land development, and site civil projects including grading, drainage, utilities, and roadway
- Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analysis using industry-standard software (HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS, Storm
CAD, or similar) - Prepare and submit permit applications to TxDOT, TCEQ, local municipalities, and other governing authorities
- Coordinate with surveyors, geotechnical engineers, architects, and contractors throughout project lifecycle
- Conduct site visits and field inspections to verify compliance with design intent and project specification
- Support preparation of plats, easement documents, and subdivision layouts in accordance with Texas regulation
- Perform utility design including water distribution, sanitary sewer, and storm sewer system
- Assist in project scheduling, budgeting, and client communications as directed by the Project Manager
- Ensure all work complies with applicable local, state, and federal codes and standards
- Mentor junior staff and EIT candidates as appropriate
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited program
- EIT (Engineer-in-Training) certification, or PE license issued by the Texas Board of Professional Engineers (TBPE)
- 2+ years of experience in civil engineering, with a focus on land development and/or residential projects
- Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading, corridor modeling, and plan production
- Working knowledge of Texas drainage criteria, floodplain regulations, and NCTCOG/TxDOT standards
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to interact professionally with clients and agencies
- Valid Texas driver's license and reliable transportation for site visits
- Active PE license in the State of Texas
- Experience with FEMA floodplain studies and LOMA/LOMR submittals
- Familiarity with Texas One-Call (811) processes and utility coordination
- Experience with Micro Station or Bentley Open Roads
- Knowledge of local municipality design standards (e.g., City of Houston, Dallas, Austin, San Antonio)
- Experience preparing drainage reports and master drainage studies
