Position

Summary

The Geomatics Manager is responsible for developing and managing the field survey and office staff and all project‑related activities. The role oversees safety, quality, schedule, staffing, and financial performance for all projects under direct supervision. It integrates with Design and Operations management, coordinates field staff to execute survey activities, manages file coordination with design teams and Engineers of Record, and works with the Geomatics Senior Manager to ensure adequate staffing and equipment.

Primarily supporting the Civil and Renewable Energy business units, the Geomatics Manager also supports the broader Geospatial group, evaluates training needs, and collaborates on policy and procedure continuous improvement.

Responsibilities Safety & Quality
  • Ensure staff adheres to all safety best practices and McCarthy’s Safety Guidelines
  • Adhere to all QA/QC processes and procedures to ensure the accuracy and quality of all deliverables
Integration & Operations
  • Develop internal adoption through partner education and by providing an exceptional client experience
  • Integrate and coordinate with Design and Operations management for projects under supervision
  • Encourage and communicate the value of complete project lifecycle integration
  • Direct oversight of all field survey activities and project deliverables
  • Develop and manage office and field survey staff
  • File management and layout support
  • Schedule and assign project field engineers
  • Equipment calibration and maintenance management
  • Pile file management and machine control technical support
  • Coordinate with the Geomatics Pre‑Con manager to incorporate initial site topographic data into design workflows
  • Coordinate with the Geomatics Pre‑Con manager on project control networks and alignment with Survey of Record
  • Ensure adherence to design documents and resolve conflicts with existing site conditions in coordination with the Engineer of Record
  • Provide technical support for field survey activities and deliverables development
  • Continue development of policies, procedures, and project workflows
Financials & Accounting
  • Manage project financials and allocations to projects
  • Track costs throughout each project
  • Perform monthly cost projections for all active projects
  • Maintain project accounting and Oracle system
  • Ensure sales tracking sheets are maintained and current at all times
  • Conduct sales and revenue forecasting
Qualifications
  • 5+ years of civil engineering or survey-related experience
  • Strong ability to communicate and manage project staff
  • Proficiency in Civil 3D and Trimble Business Center
  • Ability to build relationships and integrate with project teams
  • Developmentally minded and focused on team growth and development
  • Knowledgeable in aspects of design and construction
