A full-time position is available for a Senior Project Architect at our Dallas (TX) office or remote in the state of Texas for the candidate with the right aptitude and ability. This exciting opportunity will lead project teams focused on delivering architectural and engineering services for industrial facilities and other projects, playing a key role in expanding Mead & Hunt’s industrial market.
Responsibilities- Planning and designing structures in accordance with environmental, safety, or other regulations.
- Preparing contract documents, including drawings and specifications using Revit or other tools.
- Coordinating multi-disciplinary in-house and sub-consultant team members.
- Working closely with clients, contractors and internal design/build partners.
- Serving as a project architect on complex projects.
- Coordinating and leading project teams.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Developing and executing project workplans.
- Mentoring younger technical staff and serving as a lead technical resource.
- Scheduling and facilitating team and client meetings.
- Visiting project sites to monitor construction progress and handle construction administration.
- Developing and delivering presentations to clients, partners, and Authorities Having Jurisdiction.
- May lead the development of marketing materials, proposals, or presentations to generate new work opportunities.
- May prepare and/or monitor budgets and work in progress for specific projects or tasks.
- Other tasks as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in architecture or related field from an accredited college or university.
- At least 10 years of relevant project experience.
- Current architectural license and ability to obtain licensure in additional states as needed.
- A valid driver's license and travel (approximately 15%) will be required.
- Experience leading architectural teams through each stage of project development for industrial facilities.
- Experience interfacing with clients and stakeholders.
- Experience mentoring younger technical staff.
- Experience leading architectural teams preliminary design through construction documents, bidding and construction administration phase services for industrial facilities.
- NCARB Certified.
- Business development experience – seeking out and following through on new project opportunities in coordination with a team.
- Experience or familiarity with generative AI-driven tools, platforms, or systems (e.g., Microsoft Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) to enhance productivity, automate tasks, and reduce errors.
