Job Responsibilities and Qualifications
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of Company specific Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) standards, programs and goals by applying HSE procedures as established by the Company on a project site or in an office through training.
- Confirm project site adheres to Company and regulatory HSE standards and guidelines.
- Conduct onsite risk assessment and mitigation.
- Promote and foster HSE standards and goals with programs throughout the project to confirm a safe and productive work environment.
- Responsible for maintaining HSE-specific project files on testing for substance abuse, collecting environmental or health samples, and for providing personal protective equipment to project personnel.
- Create, administer and monitor HSE programs involving all levels of employees on the project or in the office through presentations, printed materials, and activities.
- Create summaries/reports/presentations for project management and make recommendations based on interpretations.
- Assist crews with site safety needs via toolbox talks, safety check lists, job hazard analysis, etc.
- Ability to communicate effectively with management, coworkers, client, vendors, subcontractors and visitors.
- Must have great communication skills and be bi-lingual in Spanish/English
. - Provide structure around site safety with work crews and subcontractors.
- Raise awareness of potential hazards that exist on a jobsite with team by reviewing what can be done to minimize risk.
- Conduct regular safety audits throughout the duration of a project assessing all safety related issues and follow up with the project team.
- Maintain the information technology and systems that are essential to capture and analyze key data, present reporting and communicate effectively.
- Computer skills required. Must be familiar with Microsoft office (Word, PPT, Excel & Outlook).
- Develop and maintaining strong relationships with every member of the project team, subcontractors and clients.
- Willing to address large groups of employees for training and other needs.
- Candidate expected to have well versed knowledge of OSHA construction standards.
- Prior safety or highway construction related experience a plus.
