Position summaryX4 Engineering is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the full lifecycle of electrical construction projects within live and new‑build data center environments. You will own project delivery from pre‑construction through commissioning, working directly with hyperscale and colocation clients, MEP contractors, and mission‑critical subcontractors. Projects are high‑complexity, fast‑paced, and uptime‑sensitive.
Key responsibilities- Lead end‑to‑end execution of electrical construction scopes within data center facilities (new builds, expansions, and retrofits in live environments)
- Coordinate with MEP, structural, and IT infrastructure teams to manage interdependencies across highly integrated scopes
- Manage project schedules built around data center commissioning milestones (Cx levels 1–5), planned outage windows, and client uptime requirements
- Oversee installation of medium voltage switch gear, PDUs, UPS systems, generators, busway, and low‑voltage power distribution
- Interface directly with hyperscale or colocation client representatives and manage expectations in uptime‑critical environments
- Manage change orders, RFIs, submittals, and procurement aligned to fast‑track data center delivery schedules
- Enforce site safety and NFPA 70E compliance in energised and partially energised environments
- Track cost, schedule, and quality KPIs and report to Project Executive weekly
- Minimum 5 years of project management experience specifically in data center construction (not general commercial or industrial)
- Demonstrated experience delivering electrical scopes in live or new‑build data center environments
- Familiarity with data center systems: MV/LV power distribution, UPS, generators, PDUs, busway, and associated controls
- Experience coordinating with MEP subcontractors and understanding system interdependencies in critical environments
- Proficiency in Procore, Bluebeam, and P6 or equivalent scheduling tools
- NFPA 70E certification or ability to obtain before start date
- Experience managing projects with uptime constraints and planned outage windows
- Experience on hyperscale (AWS, Meta, Microsoft, Google) or Tier III/IV colocation projects
- Exposure to data center commissioning (Cx levels 1–5) and turnover processes
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Electrical Engineering, or related field
- PMP, RCDD, or CDCP certification
- Experience with DCIM, BMS, or EPMS systems as part of project scope
Primarily site‑based on active data center construction projects in Texas
Office coordination with project executives and pre‑construction teams
Up to 10% travel to regional project sites
Work may include planned outage windows outside standard hours
