We are looking to hire a Mechanical Drafter or Designer immediately!
This role offers an opportunity to contribute as an experienced Inventor 3D modeler supporting engineering efforts on power product projects. You will create high-quality 3D models and 2D drawings, develop and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), and collaborate closely with engineers on the design of electrical power distribution equipment and related metal fabrications for a rapidly growing, innovation-focused manufacturer serving the AI data center industry and other sectors.
Responsibilities
+ Create and revise detailed 3D models and 2D drawings for parts and assemblies using Autodesk Inventor and related drafting tools.
+ Produce clear, accurate parts and assembly drawings suitable for manufacturing shop use.
+ Maintain and update Bills of Materials (BOMs) for assigned projects to ensure accuracy and completeness.
+ Collaborate closely with engineers on the design and development of power products, including power distribution equipment and related components.
+ Support additional design and documentation tasks as needed to meet project and production requirements.
+ Apply industry drafting standards and best practices for automated industrial equipment and metal enclosures.
+ Work independently to manage assigned design tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
+ Contribute to continuous improvement by refining drawings, models, and documentation processes over time.
Essential Skills
+ At least three years (ideally 5+ years) of industry experience performing 3D modeling and drafting for manufacturing shops.
+ Proficiency with Autodesk Inventor for 3D modeling and drafting;
Solid Works experience will be considered.
+ Hands-on experience drafting or designing automated industrial equipment or metal enclosures.
+ Experience creating and editing parts and assembly drawings specifically for manufacturing environments.
+ Experience creating, maintaining, and updating Bills of Materials (BOMs).
+ Strong attention to detail in all drawings, models, and documentation.
+ Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
+ Industry experience drafting in Inventor, including part drawings, assembly drawings, and BOM management.
+ Experience 3D modeling power distribution products.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Industry experience creating part and assembly drawings for manufacturing shops using Autodesk Inventor.
+ Experience drafting for power products such as switchboards, switch gear, UPS systems, static switches, and other power distribution equipment.
+ Familiarity with AutoCAD or other Autodesk tools is beneficial.
+ Ability to collaborate effectively with engineers and other technical team members.
+ Strong organizational skills to manage multiple projects and documentation requirements.
Work Environment
This position is based in an office environment and is 100% onsite, Monday through Friday. The initial schedule for the first couple of weeks is 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. After this period, you will agree upon a mutually suitable start time with your supervisor, typically between 6:00 a.m. and 8:30 a.m. The role includes a one-hour lunch break. You will work closely with engineering and manufacturing teams, using Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD, and related tools to support the design and documentation of power distribution equipment used in the rapidly expanding AI data center industry and other markets.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $31.25 - $40.87/hr.
