The right civil engineer will have:

• 5-7+ years of civil engineering experience on utility‑scale renewable energy projects.
• Ability to handle civil design for solar sites, especially rural/access roads, tracker foundations, racking‑related earthwork, and pile‑by‑pile grading considerations.
• Strong knowledge of storm water management / erosion control / drainage design, which was described as a major part of the civil scope and cost.
• Able to coordinate engineering subcontractors and work closely with the construction team through the design lifecycle.
• Comfortable with early‑stage estimating / proposal support: defining basis of design, estimating quantities, and supporting budgets before detailed design is complete.
• Hands‑on familiarity with key tools, especially HEC tools, Civil 3D, and GIS tools (ArcGIS, QGIS, Global Mapper, etc.)
