Could you be the full‑time onsite EHS Manager in Dallas, TX, US we’re looking for?
Your future roleTake on a new challenge and apply your Environment, Health & Safety expertise in a cutting‑edge field. You’ll work alongside dedicated and agile teammates. You’ll play a vital role in ensuring a safe and healthy environment for our people and contractors while minimizing environmental impacts and protecting Alstom’s assets. Day‑to‑day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (Procurement, Quality, HR, T&C, Finances), coordinate with external stakeholders such as contractors and local authorities, and implement robust EHS plans and training programs to ensure compliance and continuous improvement—and much more.
Responsibilities- Prepare the EHS Plan for the project, including the EHS Risk Register and training matrix.
- Ensure EHS Risk Assessments are conducted and appropriate measures to control risks are defined before starting project activities.
- Prepare, implement, and maintain an emergency plan.
- Ensure sub‑contractor activities are controlled with respect to EHS compliance.
- Implement contractor control processes, including qualification, onboarding, site supervision, and monthly performance reviews.
- Exercise full authority to stop any operational activity that poses an immediate high risk to people or the environment.
- Support EHS project staffing, provide EHS support during project execution, and audit EHS plan implementation during project execution phases.
- Monitor compliance with statutory, regulatory, contractual, and company requirements, and propose actions to address any gaps.
- Prepare and implement EHS training plans and programs with HR support, and develop a local EHS communication plan.
- Degree in Environmental Health and Safety or related field (preferred).
- Experience or understanding of project‑based environments, particularly in railway and/or construction sectors.
- Knowledge of ISO
14001, OHSAS 18001, and ISO
45001 standards. - Familiarity with local legal requirements for health and safety.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with internal and external stakeholders.
- Leadership skills to guide teams and drive EHS initiatives.
- Analytical thinking and a rigorous mindset to assess risks and ensure compliance.
- Initiative and action‑driven to proactively address EHS challenges.
- Teamwork and people skills to foster collaboration and engagement.
- Proficiency in computer skills for reporting and documentation purposes.
- Collaborate with transverse teams and helpful colleagues.
- Work with a diverse range of internal stakeholders, including project management teams, EHS networks, and cross‑functional departments such as Procurement, Quality, HR, T&C, and Finances, as well as external stakeholders like contractors, local authorities, and clients.
