Sr. Estimator

Felix Construction is seeking a Senior Estimator to handle all aspects of the bid/estimating process for the construction of water and wastewater facilities, including reviewing plans and specifications, taking quantity takeoffs, soliciting subcontractor pricing, and completing bid closeouts for projects ranging from $250,000 to $50 million across the Dallas metropolitan area.

• Thorough and proactive review of online resources for project advertisements
• Communicate with engineers, owners, and consultants to clarify scope of work, materials, schedule requirements, and document clarifications
• Complete bid scopes for projects
• Estimate entire projects including structural concrete, piping systems, mechanical equipment installation, and site civil
• Perform quantity takeoffs for water and wastewater piping systems and mechanical equipment for industrial piping and mechanical systems
• Perform quantity takeoffs for structural concrete and site civil work
• Take lead on estimating CSI Divisions 4-10
• Lead the internal estimate review process
• Prepare final assembly of estimate
• After the bid, collect and organize all bid information for project turnover meetings and assist field operations with change order pricing
• Maintain historical data

• Senior‑level experience required, with a minimum of 5 years in heavy civil or industrial construction, specifically within water/wastewater projects. Candidates from Project Management, Estimating, and Preconstruction are welcome.
• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Mechanical or Structural Engineering preferred but not required
• In depth knowledge of construction principles and processes
• In depth knowledge of civil activities (excavation, concrete), steel erection and equipment installation
• Ability to interpret drawings and specifications; strong understanding of piping plan isometric and P& required
• Strong math and analytical skills
• Advanced knowledge of Excel and Microsoft Project required
• Experience with estimating software such as Heavy Bid or Pro Est strongly preferred
• Legal right to work in the U.S. without sponsorship indefinitely
