Job Summary

The Project Scheduler is a key member of the Project Controls team responsible for developing, maintaining, and analyzing project schedules to support successful project delivery. The role works under the direction of the Regional Director of Planning and Controls, with indirect reporting to the Regional Scheduling Manager, ensuring schedules are accurate, compliant with company standards, and integrated into project forecasting and reporting.

Responsibilities
  • Develop, update, and maintain detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 across all phases (engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning).
  • Apply company scheduling Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and templates to ensure consistency and compliance.
  • Create baseline schedules, including logic‑driven critical paths, resource loading, and cost‑loading where required.
  • Perform schedule updates, progress measurement, and variance analysis to identify risks and opportunities.
  • Support monthly project controls processes by providing schedule inputs for earned value analysis, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams to validate progress, durations, sequencing, and resource requirements.
  • Assist in developing recovery schedules and mitigation plans for delayed or at‑risk projects.
  • Integrate schedule data with cost systems and reporting tools to ensure alignment between schedule, budget, and progress.
  • Participate in schedule reviews, audits, and health checks; address findings with corrective actions.
  • Support estimating and preconstruction teams by developing preliminary schedules, timelines, and sequencing strategies.
  • Maintain schedule documentation, including assumptions, constraints, and change logs.
  • Assist in refining and improving scheduling processes, templates, and best practices.
  • Provide mentorship and knowledge‑sharing support to junior planners or new team members (for more experienced candidates).
Minimum Qualifications
  • 3–12 years of experience in construction scheduling or project controls, preferably in industrial, energy, or heavy construction environments.
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6 (required); familiarity with Microsoft Project or similar tools is a plus.
  • Working knowledge of CPM scheduling principles, including critical path analysis, float management, and logic development.
  • Experience updating schedules and performing progress tracking and delay analysis.
  • Understanding of construction workflows, sequencing, and field operations.
  • Familiarity with cost integration, earned value management, and schedule‑driven forecasting concepts.
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Effective communication and ability to coordinate with cross‑functional teams and field personnel.
  • Ability to travel to project sites as needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company background requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Controls, or a related field.
  • Experience supporting industrial or electrical construction projects.
  • Familiarity with cost systems (e.g., HCSS, ERP systems) and their integration with scheduling tools.
  • Exposure to schedule risk analysis, resource forecasting, and recovery planning techniques.
Professional Certification

Professional certification such as PMI-SP or AACE Planning & Scheduling Professional (PSP) is a plus.
