Mechanical Engineer
Our team is seeking a Mechanical Engineer to support an airborne structure program in Dallas, TX. The selected candidate will be responsible for conducting detailed structural analysis using ABAQUS/CAE to support the design and optimization of the product. The tasks will include detailed part modeling and analysis based on inputs from a loads model, as well as working with the loads model itself.
The analysis tasks will include assessing part designs for static and dynamic strength, fatigue, and durability. The selected candidate will work under general direction of the structural analysis team and will be accountable for completing the work within the agreed upon cost and schedule. Intermediate to advanced knowledge of ABAQUS/CAE is a requirement, as ABAQUS/CAE is the tool of choice for this project.
Experience with Hypermesh can be considered in addition to ABAQUS/CAE.
Required Skills:
- Understanding of finite element structural analysis
- Intermediate or Advanced knowledge of ABAQUS/CAE and/or Hypermesh
- Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities

- Weight optimization experience
- Vibration and dynamics experience
- Fatigue/damage tolerance experience
- Experience with aircraft primary structure design/analysis
- Knowledge of commercial CAD software, such as CREO
- Programming skills in Python language
- Experience with AFGROW
Required
Education:
Must have a B.S. or higher from an accredited university with a major in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Computer Science, Math, or other related field.
