Job Description

Senior Instrument & Controls Technician responsible for the commissioning, and loop checking of all instrumentation, control system field devices, and their associated electrical signal chains at gas plant/oil stabilization facilities. The scope of work covers everything electrically connected to control system I/O, from field instruments and final control elements through to marshalling cabinets, I/O cards, and control system consoles. Pre-commissioning activities (cable checks, insulation resistance testing, termination verification, etc.)

Working as part of a multidisciplinary commissioning team, the technician ensures all instrumented systems are loop-checked, verified, and handed over in accordance with project specifications, engineering standards, and HSE requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Simulate and inject process signals at the field device or JB using calibration equipment to verify correct signal transmission, scaling, and indication at the DCS/PLC/ESD/SCADA system.
  • Confirm alarm setpoints, trip setpoints, and interlock behaviors in the field devices while working with control system engineers with the approved cause-and-effect (C&E) matrix and safety requirement specifications (SRS).
  • Verify correct I/O channel assignment, tag configuration, and engineering unit scaling within the end-devices.
