Senior Mechanical Project Engineer

Seeking an experienced Senior Mechanical Project Engineer to provide technical leadership for the design, procurement, EPC execution, commissioning, and operation of utility-scale gas turbine power generation facilities with Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS). The role serves as the owner's engineering representative, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical engineering activities for gas turbine power plants, balance-of-plant (BOP) systems, and auxiliary equipment.
• Manage equipment selection, technical specifications, design reviews, and engineering documentation, including PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment data sheets.
• Coordinate with OEMs, EPC contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout project development and execution.
• Support technology evaluation, feasibility studies, procurement, bid evaluations, contract reviews, and vendor management.
• Provide technical oversight during construction, commissioning, Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), and performance testing.
• Ensure compliance with environmental regulations, air permitting requirements, safety standards, and engineering codes.
• Support plant operations through troubleshooting, reliability improvements, maintenance planning, and lifecycle performance optimization.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 10+ years of experience in gas turbine power generation, EPC projects, owner's engineering, or power plant operations.
• Strong understanding of gas turbines, balance-of-plant systems, thermal systems, mechanical equipment integration, and environmental compliance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred.
• Experience with combined-cycle power plants, HRSG systems, commissioning, and decarbonization technologies is an advantage.
