Role Overview
We are looking for a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team in Dallas. In this role, you will be the technical lead for custom control panel solutions, guiding projects from initial design to final assembly. You will work on diverse industrial applications, ensuring every design is accurate, compliant with safety standards (UL/NEC), and optimized for performance.
Key Responsibilities
- End-to-End Design:
Create robust control panel solutions that meet unique client specifications and strict industry standards. - Technical Documentation:
Develop detailed schematics, wiring diagrams, and layout drawings using AutoCAD Electrical or equivalent software. - Engineering Analysis:
Perform critical power calculations-including load analysis, voltage drops, and short circuit studies-to guarantee system safety and reliability. - BOM & Procurement:
Generate precise Bills of Materials and provide technical guidance to the procurement team on component selection and vendor quality. - Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Partner with mechanical engineers, project managers, and clients to align on project goals, resolve design bottlenecks, and participate in formal design reviews. - Manufacturing Support:
Provide hands-on technical assistance during assembly to ensure the final product perfectly matches the engineering design. - Compliance Expert:
Ensure all work adheres to governing standards, including UL 508A, UL 67, UL 891, and NEC. - Continuous Improvement:
Stay ahead of technological trends to optimize designs for cost-efficiency, reliability, and ease of maintenance.
- Education:
Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related technical field. - Experience:
3+ years of professional experience in control panel design for industrial applications. - Technical Proficiency:
Advanced knowledge of AutoCAD Electrical or EPLAN. - Domain Knowledge:
Solid grasp of electrical principles, including Medium/Low Voltage power distribution and DC power systems. - Regulatory Knowledge:
Proven understanding of NEC, IEC, and UL safety standards. - Problem-Solving: A detail-oriented mindset with the ability to troubleshoot complex design challenges and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Communication:
Strong ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both internal teams and external clients.
