The Role

As Lead Electrical Engineer
, you will provide technical leadership across the design and delivery of high-voltage substations while working closely with project teams, estimators, procurement specialists and clients.

You will act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the project lifecycle, supporting both early-stage development and project execution while helping establish engineering best practices across the US business.

This is a highly visible position that combines technical excellence, client engagement and strategic leadership.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the design and coordination of HV substation projects across Texas
  • Provide technical oversight and peer review of engineering deliverables
  • Serve as the primary technical point of contact for clients, utilities and consultants
  • Support pre-construction and early contractor involvement activities
  • Develop technical solutions for utility‑scale transmission and distribution projects
  • Ensure compliance with applicable US standards and regulatory requirements
  • Support engineering resource planning and future team growth
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers
  • Drive continuous improvement and engineering excellence across projects
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimise project delivery
What We're Looking For
  • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Electrical Engineering
  • Experience delivering HV substation or transmission infrastructure projects
  • Strong knowledge of US electrical codes and industry standards
  • Experience with utility, renewable energy, data centre or EPC environments
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and technical stakeholders
  • Knowledge of transmission and distribution infrastructure within the US market
  • Experience with protection and control systems would be advantageous
  • Ability to work independently while influencing project teams and stakeholders
