O'Brien Industries Inc. seeks a Senior Mechanical Engineer with PE and DoD experience to lead design and analysis of engineered products for industrial and utility clients. This role owns full project life cycle from requirements and modeling through drawings, fabrication support, testing, and qualification to DoD and industry standards. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve complex mechanical and thermal challenges, ensure reliability and manufacturability, and mentor junior engineers.

Support proposals, documentation, and customer reviews while driving continuous improvement in safety, quality, and performance.

Responsibilities

  • Lead mechanical design, analysis, and validation of engineered products for industrial, utility, and Do

  • Manage full project lifecycle from requirements through detailed drawings, fabrication support, and commissioning

  • D, MIL-spec, and industry standards to ensure reliability, safety, and regulatory compliance
  • Develop 3
  • D models, FEA/thermal analyses, and tolerance stacks to optimize performance and manufacturability
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, calculations, and reports for internal and customer use
  • Collaborate with fabrication, quality, and operations teams to resolve manufacturing issues and improve processes
  • Interface with Do
  • D and industrial customers to clarify requirements and present design solutions
  • Support proposals, cost estimates, and schedules for new projects and engineering change orders
  • Mentor junior engineers and drafters, providing technical guidance and design reviews
  • Drive continuous improvement in design standards, tools, and safety and quality practices
