CQA Technician Job Description
We are seeking a Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) Technician to join our team and perform CQA services primarily for landfill and landfill gas projects within Texas. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a significant impact in the field of environmental engineering by ensuring compliance with design plans and technical specifications.
Responsibilities- Conduct daily site inspections at landfills or construction sites.
- Oversee and inspect landfill gas and landfill construction projects to ensure compliance with design plans.
- Provide Construction Quality Assurance (CQA) for compliance with drawings and technical specifications.
- Maintain and monitor landfill gas or remedial systems.
- Coordinate with General Contractors and Subcontractors.
- Submit daily written and photo log reports.
- Prepare construction documentation reports as requested.
- Assist in training engineering technicians, associate staff, and staff professionals in field activities.
- Contribute to office operations when requested.
- 3+ years of experience with Geosynthetics Inspections.
- Proficiency in Excel, Word, and PDFs, particularly using fillable Excel templates for daily field logs.
- Strong skills in soil sampling, quality assurance, report writing, inspection, and quality control testing.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in active construction sites or engineering field work is preferred.
- An Associate degree in engineering is preferred.
- A valid driver's license with a good driving record is required.
- Ability to use Microsoft Office and read maps and construction plans.
- Strong oral presentation and written communication skills.
- Knowledge of geosynthetics and soils is preferred.
- Ability to meet physical requirements for driving, lifting, carrying equipment, hand excavation, and using electric and hand tools.
The role involves significant traveling, ideal for someone comfortable being on the road, with a rotation of 6-7 weeks of work followed by a break. Overnight stays and regional travel expected, all within Texas. The first two weeks include onboarding, gathering equipment, and safety training in the local office, followed by training at various landfill sites alongside a CQA. The position offers lots of overtime opportunities, with a potential to grow into an engineering technician role.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Dallas, TX.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
