Hexagon Purus Systems USA LLC is seeking a full-time Manufacturing Engineer for our Mesquite, TX location.
Hexagon Purus Systems USA, a division of the company Hexagon Purus, focuses on designing and manufacturing systems, software, and zero emission e-Mobility vehicle integration for commercial Battery Electric Vehicles and Fuel Cell Electric Vehicles. The Manufacturing Engineer designs and optimizes production floor plans, workflows, and tools to enhance efficiency and quality, while developing standard work procedures and monitoring process capability. Additionally, the role collaborates across teams to implement electrical/mechanical solutions, conduct time studies, and ensures production readiness through documentation, tooling, and equipment development.
Job Responsibilities:- Design and optimize floor plan and production workflow.
- Build/define deployment maps/process flows to level-load production.
- Lead development of standard combination tables and standardized work.
- Define and monitor upper/lower control limits for process capability.
- Create/maintain workstations, manufacturing operations, and resource groups within ERP software.
- Conduct time studies and target improvements that will make the most impact to production quality, time, and cost.
- Ensure production has adequate documentation and procedures.
- Develop assembly tools, jigs, and fixtures.
- Apply knowledge of electrical/mechanical engineering to drive containment and corrective action implementation into production.
- Conduct pFMEAs.
- Work with production manager, contractors, utilities, and component suppliers to ensure compatibility and timely installation of production and test equipment.
- Generate reports and track progress on various initiatives.
- Develop returnable shipping fixtures.
- Design and develop electrical functional test devices.
- At a minimum: a U.S. Bachelor’s degree (or foreign degree equivalent) in Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related engineering field, plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered, or related occupation.
- Experience with new product introduction (designing manufacturing process for new product designs).
- Experience creating and defining manufacturing layouts.
- Experience creating manufacturing process standard documents (work balancing through time-studies, work instructions, standard combination tables).
