Civil Designer

We are seeking an experienced Transportation Civil Designer to join our growing team and support multidisciplinary engineering projects. This role is ideal for a highly skilled designer with strong experience in transportation, civil infrastructure, and electrical projects.

The Transportation Civil Designer will play a key role in developing high-quality design and drafting deliverables while ensuring accuracy, efficiency, and compliance with client and industry standards.

• Develop, produce, and modify detailed design drawings and construction documents using Open Roads Designer (ORD), Open Bridge Designer (OBM), Civil 3D, AutoCAD, and Micro Station.
• Interpret engineering sketches, markups, and design concepts to independently produce complete and accurate drawing packages.
• Prepare and revise plan sets, profiles, details, and plot drawings for design submittals and construction documentation.
• Apply company, client, and industry CAD standards to ensure consistency and quality across all deliverables.
• Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, project managers, and other disciplines throughout the design process.
• Coordinate the integration of electrical systems into overall project designs.
• Maintain and utilize CAD standards, templates, and detail libraries to improve drafting efficiency.
• Identify design conflicts and inconsistencies and proactively recommend practical solutions.
• Perform quality control reviews to ensure drawings are complete, accurate, and compliant with project requirements.
• Incorporate redlines, field markups, and as-built documentation updates.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives involving CAD workflows, standards, and best practices.
• Manage multiple priorities and deadlines while maintaining exceptional attention to detail.
• Provide technical guidance and support to junior drafters and team members as needed.
• Support additional project responsibilities as assigned.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, safety standards, and project requirements.

Candidates must meet one of the following experience and education requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Drafting Technology or a related field and 7+ years of related experience; OR
• Associate degree and 8+ years of related experience; OR
• 9+ years of progressive detailing and design experience.

• Advanced proficiency with design software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Micro Station, and Excel.
• Strong experience with Open Roads Designer (ORD) and Open Bridge Designer (OBM).
• Expert knowledge of civil design principles, calculations, and design systems.
• Strong understanding of civil engineering theory and practices.
• Ability to understand fundamental concepts of other engineering disciplines and coordinate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality deliverables.
• Ability to work collaboratively with Project Managers, Engineers, Designers, and other team members.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to independently manage priorities and meet project deadlines.
