Job Summary General Engineering Support
Essential Duties and Responsibilities May include any or all the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Review construction submittals for structural elements designed by Datum Calculate structural loads (e.g., Wind Load, Seismic, Gravity, etc.) based on Building Codes.
Perform Structural Analysis and Design Calculations for beams, columns, diaphragms, lateral force resisting systems, and other holistic structural systems and components, for incorporation into Construction Documents.
Attend jobsite visits.
Assist with gathering information about buildings and construction in the field, either in existing facilities or facilities under construction.
Work in building information models using Revit, depending on your abilities.
Perform miscellaneous office tasks as needed, such as assistance with establishing and maintaining design standards.
Additional responsibilities commensurate with your interests or abilities.
Desired
Education and/or Experience Enrolled in an accredited engineering program pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master's Degree in Architectural/Structural Engineering or Civil Engineering with a Structural Emphasis Successful completion of college coursework in Structural Analysis and either steel design or concrete design. Additional structural coursework is preferred.
Skills, Abilities & Qualifications Sound knowledge of engineering first principles commensurate with your education level
Familiarity with various engineering materials
Self-motivated and willing attitude
Ability to effectively process and consider complex information
Strong analytical and communication (verbal and written) skills
Supervisory Responsibilities No supervisory responsibilities
