Site Engineer I Dallas, TX (Onsite) $35-$40/hour Full-Time

Broadstaff is actively recruiting for a Site Engineer I to support operations within a mission-critical data center environment in Dallas, TX.

This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career engineer, critical facilities technician, or military veteran seeking to build a long-term career in data center operations and critical infrastructure.

The role focuses on maintaining the reliability, safety, and performance of electrical and mechanical systems that support 24/7 operations.

This position offers hands-on exposure to critical power systems, cooling infrastructure, operational procedures, and facility maintenance while working alongside experienced engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor and operate critical facility infrastructure in accordance with established operating procedures.
  • Support the maintenance and troubleshooting of electrical systems, including UPS systems, switch gear, generators, ATS/STS equipment, and power distribution systems.
  • Assist with mechanical system operations, including HVAC, chillers, CRAC/CRAH units, pumps, and cooling systems.
  • Perform facility inspections and identify abnormal operating conditions.
  • Assist in the development and review of SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, and maintenance procedures.
  • Coordinate and oversee vendor maintenance activities.
  • Participate in incident response, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis.
  • Maintain operational logs, equipment documentation, and maintenance records.
  • Support equipment commissioning, testing, and preventive maintenance programs.
  • Participate in an on-call rotation and support occasional after-hours maintenance activities as required.
Qualifications
  • Approximately 1+ year of experience in a data center, critical facilities, industrial plant, power generation, hospital, airport, utility, or similar mission-critical environment.
  • Basic understanding of electrical power distribution and critical infrastructure systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, one-lines, schematics, and equipment documentation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Commitment to safety and operational excellence.
Preferred Experience
  • Experience with UPS systems, switch gear, generators, and electrical distribution.
  • Familiarity with HVAC, chilled water systems, CRAC/CRAH units, or other cooling infrastructure.
  • Experience working with SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, CMMS, DCIM, or building monitoring systems.
  • Military technical experience, particularly Navy Nuclear, electrical, mechanical, or power-generation backgrounds.
  • Prior data center operations or critical facilities experience.
