FIELD ENGINEER ENTACT is a premier national provider of environmental, civil, and geotechnical construction services. We directly self-perform environmental remediation and geotechnical construction work, using in-house personnel and equipment resources. ENTACT’s roster is comprised of seasoned project managers, field engineers, technical and regulatory professionals, certified safety professionals, certified quality control managers, equipment operators, field mechanics, and technicians, with diverse capabilities and experience.

Established in 1991, ENTACT has been consistently named to ENR’s “Top 200 Environmental Firms”, has been the recipient of numerous National Safety Council awards, and has successfully and safely completed over 3,000 projects. ENTACT has numerous regional offices and project sites across the United States. We are well positioned to serve our clients nationwide. ENTACT is actively seeking a Field Engineer in the environmental remediation and geotechnical construction industry.

Candidates must be open to sustained project-based travel within the US, at least 80% of the time. Project locations will vary depending on the assignment. Candidates can reside anywhere within the US. ENTACT offers per diem/living allowance and paid monthly trips home.

Position Summary:

The position of Field Engineer will work closely with all members of the management and health and safety team. This position includes quality control, surveying, reporting, KPI tracking, and other responsibilities related to the proper and timely execution of ENTACT projects. Must be self-motivated to meet deadlines, communicate effectively in a teamwork setting and be able to adapt role/responsibilities in a fast-paced ever-changing environment.

Associates must be open to periods of sustained project-based travel. HAZWOPER training is highly preferred but not required. Must have a valid driver’s license with no driving restrictions which interfere with job requirements.

Work Environment:

The Field Engineer performs the essential job functions primarily in a construction/field setting and occasionally works in a typical office environment.

Essential Job Functions:
  • Complete work in accordance with ENTACT safety policy and procedure.
  • Responsible for the technical coordination of on-site procurement activities including material requisitions, tracking supply deliveries, verifying field receipts and monitoring subcontractor performance.
  • Process project documentation including daily reports, weekly reports, RFIs, submittals and change orders.
  • Track schedules, ensure contract compliance and support the Project Manager and Field Project Manager (Superintendent) to deliver projects on time and within budget.
  • Develop accurate construction figures and surfaces from engineering sketches, design concepts and field measurements using AutoCAD.
  • Process subcontractor billings, monitor project budgets, verify field payroll and provide financial reporting to Project Manager.
  • Oversee the lifecycle of all contracts, subcontracts and purchase orders from drafting to project closeout.
  • Ensure all activities, materials and workmanship comply with approved design drawings and project specifications.
  • Conduct initial and daily topographic surveys to calculate earthwork volumes, track stockpiles and assess site drainage.
  • Work with project teams and vendors to meet project goals and objectives during the execution phase of the project.
  • Issue purchase orders and subcontracts, enter/track time, assist with expense reports and verify the accuracy of vendor and subcontractor billings.
