- Evaluate and diagnose basic customer biomedical equipment issues
- Perform repairs, planned maintenance, and safety/environmental inspections
- Assist experienced technicians with basic and complex repairs
- Communicate and partner with teammates and colleagues
- Follow GE policies, procedures, hospital protocols, and complete documentation
- Maintain daily customer communications to ensure resolution and follow-up
- Implement GE/customer facility contracts and support business objectives
- Provide efficient service delivery to accounts within the assigned area
- Share on-call responsibility when trained
- Document repair actions and submit scheduled reports and summaries
- Care for and maintain spares, tools, and test equipment, including calibration
- Maintain technical knowledge of standards, codes, and procedures for safe medical-equipment use
- Use manuals, technical support, Face Time, and online resources when performing planned maintenance
- Meet Health and Human Services, Environmental Health and Safety, and other regulatory requirements
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; OR equivalent military education; OR participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship, Apprenticeship or Military Externship program; OR High School Diploma/GED and a minimum 2 years of experience servicing electrical, electronics, IT or mechanical equipment
- Analytical and communication skills with the ability to communicate technical issues clearly to customers
- Willingness to work after hours or a rotating on-call schedule, including weekends, as necessary
- Valid driver's license and ability to maintain it
- Compliance with GEHC's standard background check, including post-offer drug testing
- Ability to comply with customer access policies, including required immunizations and additional drug tests or background checks
- Legal authorization to work in the United States; employment visa sponsorship is not available
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 35 lbs. unassisted
- Ability to frequently bend, stoop, twist, climb, crouch/squat, kneel/crawl, sit, and stand for long periods
- Ability to reach at, above, and below shoulder level; flex/extend neck; and demonstrate good hand and finger dexterity
- Specific vision abilities may include color, close, distance, peripheral, and depth perception
Demonstrates expertise in evaluating, diagnosing, and repairing biomedical equipment while adhering to safety and regulatory standards. Proficient in maintaining technical knowledge and delivering efficient service to ensure customer satisfaction.
