The Associate Investment Analyst supports the Investment Management (IM) division by conducting investment research and analytical work to inform the portfolio management and asset allocation processes. This role offers the opportunity to build investment expertise and contribute meaningfully to asset allocation decisions across institutional pools of capital, including endowments, foundations, operating reserves, and sophisticated client portfolios.
What You’ll Do- Support portfolio management and asset allocation efforts across public and private markets.
- Run portfolio, performance, risk, liquidity, and exposure-based analytics.
- Conduct due diligence on investment managers, including alternative investments, hedge funds, and private equity.
- Assist with portfolio construction and model portfolio analytics.
- Communicate investment platform insights and solutions to advisors.
- Partner with advisors to prepare materials for prospect and client meetings.
- Monitor portfolios daily to ensure compliance with guidelines and investment policies.
- Prepare and present detailed portfolio updates, due diligence write-ups, and recommendation memos to senior leadership and the Investment Committee.
- Contribute to thematic investment research and help identify global market inefficiencies.
- Attend occasional conferences and industry events to gather market intelligence.
- Collaborate with legal, compliance, operations, and finance to ensure appropriate portfolio oversight and adherence to policies.
- Build advanced analytical skills and contribute to macroeconomic and cross-asset discussions.
- Engage with the team across equities, fixed income, real assets, alternatives, and multi‑asset strategies, actively challenging assumptions and investment views.
- 2+ years of investment or asset management experience preferred (manager research or due diligence experience is a plus).
- Bachelor’s degree required with strong academic performance.
- CFA or CAIA designation (or progression toward either) preferred.
- Solid understanding of investment strategies, capital markets, and portfolio construction concepts.
- Strong quantitative skills and proficiency with statistical and analytical methods.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to conduct independent research and develop data‑driven recommendations.
- Experience with tools such as SMArtX, Advyzon, Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, or other portfolio analytics tools is a plus.
- High proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office; familiarity with portfolio analytics systems preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint with the ability to design and deliver high‑quality presentations.
- Strong work ethic, intellectual curiosity, and a client‑centric mindset.
- Innovative use of AI tools (e.g., Copilot) to increase efficiency and analysis rigor.
