Tax Manager

Overview

I have partnered with an established and growing organization in the consumer retail space, looking for a Tax Manager. This is a high-impact role, with the opportunity to build out the Tax department.

• Manage a broad range of federal, state, and local tax compliance activities, including preparing returns, extensions, quarterly estimates, and required filings across multiple tax types (income, franchise, sales & use, fuel, property, and other industry-specific taxes).
• Review and analyze data from varied sources to prepare tax provisions, maintain depreciation schedules, and support accurate quarterly and annual tax reporting.
• Monitor legislative updates, research multi-jurisdictional tax issues, and recommend process or strategy enhancements to strengthen compliance and reduce tax exposure.
• Support federal and state audit activities, real estate tax appeals, and due diligence efforts by preparing documentation, analyzing tax impacts, and identifying opportunities for savings.
• Lead and mentor the Sales & Use Tax Accountant, overseeing reconciliations, payments, and overall compliance for sales, use, and property tax functions.

• CPA preferred
• 5+ years' of experience of professional tax experience; ASC 704
