The Vice President of Finance is a senior leadership role responsible for overseeing the financial strategy, planning, and performance of a manufacturing-based organization within the agriculture and food supply chain. This individual will partner closely with the President/CEO and executive leadership team to drive profitable growth, strengthen margins, and ensure financial discipline across operations.
This role has full accountability for financial planning, reporting, audit oversight, cost management, and capital strategy, while serving as a trusted advisor to executive leadership, the Board, and investors.
Key Responsibilities- Lead enterprise-wide financial planning, including budgeting, forecasting, capital expenditures, and long-range financial modeling.
- Deliver timely and accurate financial reporting, performance analysis, and executive-level insights.
- Partner with Operations and Supply Chain to optimize costs, improve margins, and support manufacturing and agricultural operations.
- Oversee product costing, margin analysis, and financial modeling to support Sales, Operations, and strategic initiatives.
- Act as a strategic finance partner to the executive team, translating financial data into actionable business recommendations.
- Identify financial and operational risks, ensuring appropriate controls, compliance, and mitigation strategies.
- Lead internal oversight of the annual audit process and maintain strong financial governance.
- Manage insurance programs and regulatory compliance relevant to manufacturing and agricultural environments.
- Lead, develop, and mentor the finance team, ensuring scalability and accountability as the business grows.
- Present financial results and strategic recommendations to executive leadership, the Board of Directors, and investors.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; MBA and/or CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 10 years of progressive finance leadership experience within manufacturing, agriculture, or food production environments
. - Strong background in cost accounting, capital investment analysis, and operational finance.
- Demonstrated experience supporting complex manufacturing operations and margin-driven businesses.
- Proven ability to partner with executive leadership and influence decision-making.
- Experience with ERP and enterprise systems implementations; exposure to WMS, TMS, analytics platforms, and automation tools is a plus.
- High level of financial acumen, judgment, and discretion suitable for a confidential leadership search.
