SVP, Controller (Deputy CFO) - Multi-Strategy Investment Firm

One of my favorite clients, a top multi-strategy investment firm is seeking an SVP, Controller to architect and oversee the future of its enterprise Finance & Accounting function. This transformational role unifies strategic finance leadership, digital modernization, and technical accounting expertise.

As the CFO's strategic deputy, you'll oversee Finance Strategy and Finance Operations across a multi-entity platform, integrating FP&A, Controllership, Investment Accounting, and ERP/FIS. You'll serve as the enterprise's senior accounting authority while building an AI-enabled, automation-first finance ecosystem that delivers investor-grade insights and operational excellence.

• Architect and execute a multi-year digital finance/accounting roadmap leveraging AI, automation, and real-time analytics
• Lead enterprise performance management, FP&A, AOP, forecasting, predictive analytics, and financial modeling
• Serve as the most senior accounting authority overseeing enterprise controllership, technical accounting, and multi-entity financial operations
• Oversee consolidated reporting, statutory compliance, audits, and board-level financial communications
• Drive ERP transformation and integration with modern data platforms
• Lead PMO initiatives across process redesign, controls enhancement, and automation deployment

• 20+ years progressive finance leadership spanning Controllership, FP&A, and Transformation
• CPA required
• Proven success unifying mature finance functions and leading senior executive teams
• Deep expertise in AI-enabled forecasting, automation, and modern finance architectures
• Strong technical accounting background with board-level reporting experience
• Experience in alternative investment industry or multi-entity, private equity-backed environments
