The Finance Director is responsible for the day-to-day financial activities of the organization and supports and advises the Climate Control Americas Management Team on the financial strategy and requirements.
Work EnvironmentHybrid (two days on-site minimum).
Key Responsibilities Business Partnering- Proven experience as director of finance or similar role
- Partner with commercial and executive team to drive commercial decision making and strategy.
- Trusted advisor to the executive team to provide financial expertise and support business planning by providing financial analysis and modelling.
- Identify and measure key success drivers
- Lead and mentor teams for ongoing professional growth throughout the site
- Work with management to produce annual forecasts and budgets that will achieve Climate Controls business objectives.
- Support development and implementation of strategic objectives and targets through strategy deployment process
- Develop and maintain the ongoing strategic plan including proformas, capital spending, and resource allocation plans.
- Identify, plan and implement strategic improvement projects.
- Comply with all financial reporting and audit requirements ensuring that all group and statutory reporting deadlines are achieved.
- Prepare and submit monthly financial accounts and associated analysis.
- Work with other departments to ensure the integrity of all numbers collected at month end through the central reporting system
- Implement continuous and comprehensive financial control in accordance with IMI Guidance.
- Through implementation of appropriate system of authorities and approvals ensure that budgets for revenue and capital spend are not exceeded.
- Ensure appropriate control is in place over cash transactions.
- Support evaluations of new business and contract reviews to ensure margins and overall financial returns meet objectives.
- Ensure appropriate accounting for stock including monthly reconciliation between book and physical stock. Ensure stock take procedures and valuation complies with IMI requirements.
- Prepare monthly management accounts to include profit performance, sector sales performance by customer / gross margin, detailed gross margin analysis by item group, overhead spend analysis by cost center, summary bridge vs. plan.
- Support monitoring of performance against strategic targets using Bridges, Cognos, and cost center actual vs. budget reports.
- Ensure results are clearly disseminated to all leadership group.
- Oversee all aspects of sales and purchase ledger to ensure efficient transaction processing and continuous improvement of processes.
- Work with AR department to ensure effective credit control and collections to meet DSO and % past due objectives for the business.
- Ensure employee expenses / credit card spend is correctly controlled and accounted for.
- Ensure cashbook is correctly administered and that all key control accounts are fully reconciled on a monthly basis.
