Fund Accounting Manager

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise, coach, and train fund accounting staff.
• Manage multiple client relationships and engagements.
• Oversee the general ledger and various sub-ledgers.
• Prepare and review financial statements, footnotes, and partner capital statements.
• Handle limited and general partner allocations.
• Review trial balances and work paper packages.
• Monitor capital activity, including capital calls, distributions, rebalances, and transfers.
• Review and calculate fees such as management fees, administrative fees, waterfalls, clawbacks, and carried interest.
• Ensure timely and high-quality client deliverables.
• Engage with senior management to manage client relationships.
• Provide technical accounting expertise to clients.
• Plan and execute new client setups and transitions.
• Coordinate with internal groups such as Operations, Financial Statements, Tax, and Investor Relations.
• Manage and oversee external audit processes.
• Review partnership agreements, private placement memoranda, and related documents.
• Implement fund structures within the accounting system.
• Produce ad hoc reports as required.
• Participate in additional duties as needed to support the business.

• Minimum of 2 years managing fund accounting teams.
• 2-4 years of fund accounting experience.
• Proficient in US GAAP and other comprehensive accounting frameworks.
• Familiarity with waterfall structures, modeling, and calculations preferred.
• Experience in preparing and reviewing general ledgers and financial statements.
• Strong leadership and supervisory skills.
• Effective project management skills with attention to detail and ability to multitask.
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Economics.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word; experience with private equity accounting platforms such as Sun Gard Investran is highly desirable.
