Founded in 2021, Galley Investment Group (“Galley”) is a privately held firm focused on investing in high quality oil & gas assets across the United States. The firm is led and supported by a team of seasoned professionals with extensive careers at leading operating companies and financial institutions, enabling Galley to effectively navigate the intricate landscape of oil and gas investments.

Galley is currently marketing a $150 million mineral and royalty fund (Galley Mineral and Royalty Fund LP), which deploys capital into mineral and royalty assets across the lower 48, with a particular emphasis on the Permian Basin. Galley’s inaugural transaction in December 2021 was the acquisition of approximately 3,500 net royalty acres in Lea and Eddy Counties, New Mexico.

Galley is seeking a Controller to serve as the senior accounting leader for the firm. This individual will be responsible for fund-level accounting, financial reporting, internal controls, and the day-to-day execution of invoicing, accounts payable, and cash disbursements across multiple entities.

The Controller will work closely with Galley’s Managing Partners, outsourced accounting groups, fund administrators, auditors, tax advisors, and other third-party service providers. The ideal candidate has deep experience in oil & gas minerals and royalties accounting, understands private investment fund structures, and is comfortable operating in a lean, hands-on environment where ownership, accuracy, and judgment are critical.

• Oversee accounting and reporting for Galley’s investment funds, GP entities, and related vehicles
• Coordinate with fund administrator on capital accounts, capital calls, distributions, and investor reporting
• Review fund financial statements, partner capital activity, and support audits and tax filings
• Oversee accounting for fund subsidiaries holding mineral and royalty interests
• Review monthly closes, reconciliations, and financial statements across entities
• Oversee revenue accounting for mineral and royalty interests, including operator statements, accruals, and cash receipts
• Manage revenue recovery efforts and account for lease bonuses and other non-operated income
• Own invoicing, accounts payable, and payment execution across fund and fund subsidiaries
• Review, code, and process invoices; execute ACHs, wires, and checks with proper approvals
• Track deal-related, legal, and operating expenses by entity
• Oversee PP&E-related accounting, including depletion, impairments, and transfers from unproved to proved properties
• Maintain strong internal controls, cash management, and banking relationships
• Improve accounting processes and systems as the firm scales
• Support senior leadership with ad hoc analysis and special projects

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
• CPA strongly preferred; active license
• 7+ years of accounting experience, with significant exposure to oil & gas minerals and royalties
• Experience with private investment funds, PE-backed platforms, or multi-entity structures preferred
• Public accounting (audit) background a plus
• Strong understanding of oil & gas contracts, lease terms, pricing, and deductions
• Demonstrated experience owning invoicing, accounts payable, and payment workflows
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work directly with senior leadership and external counter parties
