Job Details
Our company is seeking a Senior Accountant to take the lead role in our Accounting and Finance department. This position offers a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in our financial operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a wide range of accounting functions, including Cost of Goods Sold (COGS), manufacturing, fixed assets, inventory, variance analysis, Operating Expenses (OPEX), and cash forecasting.
This role requires a minimum of 5+ years of experience in the field and a deep understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
Responsibilities
Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, general ledger, payroll and utilities, treasury, budgeting, cash forecasting, revenue and expenditure variance analysis, capital assets reconciliations, and more.Develop and maintain timely and accurate financial statements and reports that are in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Manage the preparation of all financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.Conduct regular ledger maintenance and reconciliation activities.Oversee the maintenance and accuracy of the company’s inventory management system.Conduct regular variance analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities.Manage the company’s fixed assets and ensure proper recording of new purchases and disposals.Assist in the development of budgets and financial forecasts, and produce budget-versus-actual reports for management.Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. A Master’s degree or CPA certification is a plus.A minimum of 5+ years of experience in a senior accounting role.Proven experience with COGS, manufacturing accounting, fixed assets, inventory management, variance analysis, OPEX, and cash forecasting.Strong understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, and accounting software systems.Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to make data‑driven decisions.Strong written and verbal communication skills.Proven leadership skills with a dedication to driving and achieving results.Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.High level of integrity, confidentiality, and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results‑orientation.This is an exciting opportunity to take on a senior role within our accounting team and make a significant impact on our company’s financial operations.
