REPORTS TO: Managing Director, Investments
WORK TYPE: In-person
DUTIES And RESPONSIBILITIES- Assume responsibilities around sourcing new strategies and managers across the private investment landscape
- Utilize existing network of managers and peer investors to find best-in-class managers
- Build market maps around interesting strategies
- Assist in maintaining a pipeline of potential managers and investments
- Assume due diligence responsibilities for existing and new third-party private market money managers
- Execute manager-specific projects and asset class research
- Utilize behavioral descriptive interview techniques; conduct and document regular calls with portfolio managers
- Examine and assess ADVs, financial statements, and various other legal documents to determine suitable investment strategies
- Attend meetings (virtual and on-site) with portfolio managers, conferences, and investor days
- Research economic conditions and assess relative value of investment sectors to develop actionable ideas which can be expressed in a portfolio
- Coordinate investment-related requests with other departments internally
- Assist with communication materials for internal and external users (PowerPoint presentations, Excel files, Word documents, etc.)
- Prepare and present manager-specific performance, exposure and risk reports to the Investment Committee and firm.
Position Requirements
- Undergraduate/graduate degree from an accredited college or university’s economics, applied mathematics, accounting, or finance program
- 4-7 years in investment related position preferred
- Either has or is pursuing Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) or similar industry related certification is a plus
- Demonstrable experience in portfolio management (e.g. prior full‑time roles and/or internships), exemplifying investment knowledge across asset classes
- Proficient in use of Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and CRM applications
- Demonstrable ability to read and understand financial statements
- Experience with industry related software:
Caissa, Morningstar, Black Diamond, Bloomberg, etc. - Ability to maintain extreme confidentiality in dealing with client matters
- Must consent to and have favorable consumer report and background check
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Ability to work in a team setting
- Organized with keen attention to detail
- Proactive problem‑solving and learning
- Willingness to learn and expand responsibility
