The Vice President of Investments & Acquisitions is a senior leadership role responsible for sourcing, evaluating, structuring, and executing real estate investment opportunities that align with the organization’s strategic objectives. This role oversees the full acquisition lifecycle, including market research, underwriting, due diligence, negotiation, and transaction execution. The Vice President will work closely with executive leadership to drive portfolio growth, optimize investment performance, and manage risk across asset classes.
Key Responsibilities- Identify, evaluate, and execute real estate acquisition opportunities across target markets and asset classes.
- Develop and implement investment strategies aligned with company growth objectives and risk tolerance.
- Lead financial analysis, underwriting, and valuation of potential investments, including scenario modeling and return projections.
- Structure transactions, negotiate purchase agreements, and oversee deal execution through closing.
- Monitor market trends, economic indicators, and competitive activity to inform investment decisions.
- Establish and maintain relationships with brokers, developers, lenders, institutional partners, and other key stakeholders.
- Build and manage a strong pipeline of acquisition opportunities.
- Represent the organization in negotiations, industry events, and partnership discussions.
- Lead comprehensive due diligence processes including financial, legal, operational, and market reviews.
- Coordinate internal teams and external advisors to assess risk and validate investment assumptions.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal investment policies.
- Collaborate with asset management teams to support portfolio performance and value creation initiatives.
- Track investment performance against projections and recommend strategic actions as needed.
- Prepare and present investment memoranda, reports, and recommendations to executive leadership and investment committees.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Business, Economics, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
- 10+ years of progressive experience in real estate investments, acquisitions, private equity, or institutional asset management.
- Demonstrated track record of sourcing and closing complex real estate transactions.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and underwriting expertise.
- Deep understanding of real estate markets, capital structures, and investment strategies.
- Experience managing teams and leading cross-functional initiatives.
- Exceptional negotiation, analytical, and decision-making skills.
