MSPBNA is seeking to hire candidates for the position of Mortgage Consultant for the Morgan Stanley Home Loans team. As a Mortgage Consultant (MC), you will use your in-depth industry knowledge and experience to provide an excellent client experience to our Financial Advisors and their wealth management clients throughout the home loans mortgage origination cycle.

The ideal candidate will be a subject matter expert in jumbo mortgages, complex income and assets and have a high degree of comfort engaging with affluent clients and their advisors. An individual that exhibits high energy, takes ownership, and demonstrates a collaborative pro‑active approach is critical for this role.

Position can be based: (a) in our Dallas, TX office or (b) Tempe, AZ office.

Position Responsibilities:
  • The MC will form deep working relationships with Financial Advisors and Personal Bankers. Assist in providing expert advice and problem‑solving skills to help meet client mortgage needs.
  • Ability to work as part of team assigned to a Complex /Branch level coverage and grows the market share through business referrals.
  • Required to provide the best rate execution and proper product selection for the clients.
  • Act as the “face” of the business by owning the client experience up to and including loan registration. This is achieved by following up on potential client referrals and working with the client to complete a high quality, accurate and compliant mortgage application.
  • Work directly with Private Bankers (Field Sales) in order to help reach each complex /branch growth targets.
  • Maintain and follow up on a pipeline of client referrals.
  • Analyze financial information to make an initial assessment regarding whether the clients and the property may qualify for a particular lending solution and find the best option for their particular mortgage solution.
  • Participate in business partner’s events and office activities which promote our internal Home Loan team.
  • Partner with Mortgage Specialist Team to ensure the seamless transfer of the loan application in a timely manner once the intent to proceed has been received.
  • The MC will be tasked with multiple responsibilities that include inbound /outbound queue management, multiple call campaigns, and various bank initiatives, along with intense client follow‑up.
  • Knowledge of the laws and regulation that govern consumer lending, including fair lending, privacy, RESPA, and TRID.
  • Obtain documents to satisfy conditions for underwriting approval and product/pricing negotiations as necessary.
  • Provide perspective and feedback relative to client experience enhancements and process efficiencies.
  • Complete all assigned training in a timely manner.
Qualifications
  • 4-8 years of relevant mortgage experience (Sales and/or Operations preferred)
  • Experience in Client relationship management roles.
  • Established track record of developing and maintaining Client relationships in a Sales or Operational setting.
