Position SummaryThe Sales and Use Tax Senior will be responsible for assisting in all aspects of our clients’ sales and use tax audits, general consulting, tax planning strategies, and compliance, including filing returns. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills, excellent analytical abilities, and thorough knowledge of state and local tax laws. Candidates must be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and directly collaborate with the department’s lead to engage closely with clients.

- Assist in the management of sales and use tax audits, gathering documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and negotiating settlements.
- Conduct research on complex sales and use tax issues and provide guidance on tax implications to clients.
- Handle the preparation and filing of sales and use tax returns for multiple jurisdictions.
- Monitor changes in tax legislation and stay informed on current market trends to uphold a reputation as a reliable advisor.
- Understand clients’ business activities and foster strong relationships to provide personalized advice tailored to their unique needs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
- 2‑4 years of experience in sales and use tax, preferably in a senior role.
- In‑depth knowledge of state and local sales and use tax regulations.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Proficiency in tax research tools.
- Achieved or partially achieved CPA or CMI qualification, or ability to sit for the bar, or actively working toward one of the three.
- Proficiency in Alteryx, Power BI, and/or other data manipulation and transformation software.
