Financial Reporting Manager

Dallas, TX

One of Vaco’s Fortune 500 clients is looking to add a few new roles to the team after a very large transaction, one of which includes a Financial Reporting Manager. This person will be heavily involved in leading a team of seniors/staffs on SEC reporting and filing obligations, providing technical support for any accounting issues they might encounter and assist with the annual audit and quarterly audit reviews.

The company is very stable and flush with cash for investments. Internally they have a track record of promotion upwards and across teams and offer very lucrative benefits including stock options.

Compensation: $150-155K + 30% Bonus

Day-to-Day
  • Supervise the preparation and review of SEC filings, including Forms 10-K, 10-Q, 8-K, proxy statements, and other required disclosures.
  • Preparation of monthly consolidated financial statements.
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, SOX requirements, and internal accounting policies.
  • Assist in research accounting, consolidation and reporting issues.
  • Coordinate the quarterly and annual external reporting process across accounting, finance, legal, investor relations, and external auditors.
  • Review financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and supporting schedules for completeness and accuracy.
  • Research and document technical accounting matters and assist with implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Support external audits and SEC comment letter responses as needed.
What you bring to the table
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required;
    Master’s degree preferred.
  • CPA certification required or strongly preferred.
  • 5–8+ years of progressive accounting and financial reporting experience, including public company SEC reporting.
  • Public accounting experience with a Big Four or large regional firm preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC reporting requirements, and SOX compliance.
  • Experience with financial reporting software and ERP systems.
